What a restaurant website actually needs

Your website does not need to be complicated. It does need to help someone decide, quickly and on their phone.

Answer the immediate questions

Where are you? When are you open? What is on the menu? What is the room like? Can I book? Put these answers where people expect them, not three clicks deep.

  • An up-to-date menu that works on mobile
  • A clear booking action and phone number
  • Location, opening hours and accessibility details
  • A few honest images of the room and the experience

Make functions easy to enquire about

If private dining or events matter to your business, give them their own clear path. Show capacity, the kind of occasion you host and what happens after the enquiry. The form should ask enough to start a useful conversation, not demand a full event brief.

Check the path yourself

Try booking a table from your phone on mobile data. Ask someone unfamiliar with the venue to do the same. If they hesitate, there is work to do. Track booking button clicks and enquiries so future changes can be judged on more than taste.
